About Subud Christchurch
The Christchurch Subud group is located in the Heathcote Valley area of the city on a large, inviting property, including the main house, a little guest cabin and the independant latihan hall built according to a design by architect Lambert Gibbs for Bapak's visit in 1978. A second hall, joined to the first by smaller meeting rooms, is currently planned. The whole centre is adjacent to the homes of various members, a property development project and the riding school run by Aisjah Addison. Christchurch, with a population of 300.000, is a gateway to the stunning scenery of New Zealand's south island, including the southern Alps and the famed Fjordland... and many of the most stunning locations (Edoras is just 2 1/2 hours drive away) used in the filming of the Lord of the Rings! To reach the Subud centre by public transport, catch the Metro Bus number 28 to Lyttleton from the bus exchange in the city. This stops close to the Subud property at the Martindales Road, Heathcote bus stop.
